Review on 🌿 16-Ounce Pond Gel Filter Pad Bacterial Inoculant - Microbe Lift GEL16 by Tina Harris

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I didn't believe how well it worked.

I wasn't sure if this thing would clean our 5 duck pond. The homemade filter costs less than $100 and consists of a 55-gallon polypropylene drum cut in half and a 12-gallon polypropylene drum in which the bacteria work. I loaded the barrel halves 3/4 with gravel on one side and fine gravel on the other side. The water goes first through the 3/4, then through the peas, and some of that purified water goes into the 12 gallon drum where I have some old evaporative cooler mats and a 20 pound drum. bizarre ceramic environments in which bacteria work. The transparency of the pond fluctuates due to the activity of the ducks, the water is initially crystal clear in the morning, a bit cloudy at midday, but shortly after sunset the pond starts to become clearer again. We didn't want to build a pond unless we could keep it clean naturally, so the actual pond would be 12 feet by 7 feet and 18 inches deep just behind the current pond.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Long delivery time
