Description of 🌿 16-Ounce Pond Gel Filter Pad Bacterial Inoculant - Microbe Lift GEL16

Easily applies to filter pads and media without running or getting messy. Contains the same spectrum of bacteria found in Microbe Lift PL. Helps stabilize pond environment quickly upon startup and to eliminate transient instability that can occur when filter media is cleaned or replaced. Allows for more frequent cleaning of filters without subsequent instability if a pond has a high solids loading where frequent cleaning is beneficial. Reduces the frequency of cleaning by accelerating the breakdown of organic solids that can lead to high maintenance requirements.

Not as described in Aquarium Pumps and Filters

When I applied the so called gel to the pad it should stay in place. It's not like this! It flowed like water. I am very disappointed in this bottle.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Only available in black

Lots of bang for your buck

Great for ponds but I also use it on my 90 gallon tank. You don't need much cheaply. Much more profitable than aquarium bacteria. Put a small amount directly into your filter after each filter cleaning. Turn off all UV lamps for a day

packaging problem! The best in the aquarium Pumps and filters

I received this product today in a bubble envelope. When I opened the package, the first thing I noticed was the smell. For those who don't know, this thing stinks, which is normal when you're outside. The cap was broken and the inner seal was lifted enough to leak so it was all over the box and inside the bottle.

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Not everything fits

A great start for your pond filter

I rebuilt the waterfall pond filter so the biological effect on the filter was pre-started. The water in the pond immediately cleared. It's a thick gel that really sticks to filter pads. It really smells and is very similar to the scale from the pond when you clean the filter. It does what it says on the tin, just doesn't smell it.

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Can't remember

Although the smell is not very pleasant, it is bacteria so this is to be expected. I use this to add extra bacteria to my filter pads after many water changes, which will most likely destroy the favorable environment for the bacteria. It is easy to use by simply spraying the heavy liquid onto and/or between the filter pads and allowing it to take effect. I don't have any stats to back this up, but we haven't lost a koi or goldfish in over 6 years. Unfortunately, our filter can clog and…

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Useless features

Works great - filter accessory

It's fantastic! Works great but oh my god it stinks! I use it in my 10 gallon tank where I have koi and shubunkin for the winter. I've had a problem with cloudy water for a long time. After it arrived in the mail I used some of it in the filter but the problem persisted so I took apart the filter which has 3 separate filter bags (filter media for good bacteria, charcoal and something else). So after cleaning I splashed some Microbe Lift Gel between 3 filter bags and after a few hours the water…

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Hard to say

I didn't believe how well it worked.

I wasn't sure if this thing would clean our 5 duck pond. The homemade filter costs less than $100 and consists of a 55-gallon polypropylene drum cut in half and a 12-gallon polypropylene drum in which the bacteria work. I loaded the barrel halves 3/4 with gravel on one side and fine gravel on the other side. The water goes first through the 3/4, then through the peas, and some of that purified water goes into the 12 gallon drum where I have some old evaporative cooler mats and a 20 pound drum…

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Long delivery time
