Review on πŸš— Pioneer MVH-S215BT Bluetooth Car Stereo Receiver with USB, MP3, AUX, AM/FM, Android Smartphone Compatibility, and ALPHASONIK Earbuds by Keith Alvord

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great sound, good settings, works great!

I bought this to replace a 3 year old Kenwood head unit that had USB and Bluetooth on the rear and had a broken display. Since the display cost the same as this receiver, I decided to buy a new one. In any case, this device is great. Don't be fooled by some of the Mixtrax functional graph reviews. Menu lets you turn off Mixtrax blinking, very easy to set up, has lots of power (much better sound quality than my Kenwood and seems louder), 5 band EQ, bass boost, subwoofer etc... everything works and you can fine-tune everything to your liking. The only "cons" I have is that it's not built into the headlight dimmer, so it can be very bright at first at night. Luckily there's a dimmer button on the front that dims the display when pressed for a few seconds and you're good to go. I have no problem seeing the display in bright sunlight, but I opted for green letters/buttons and blue for the pen and phone controls. If you're using a color like blue or red, it's a lot harder to spot, depending on how your toolbar is set up. It integrates perfectly with my android phone, the pandora app works fine via bluetooth, it just needs pandora to work on the phone. BEFORE you connect, otherwise you will have to try again. It connects to the phone very quickly, the sound quality is good. I also have a USB connection to my old classic iPod so I always have plenty of music on hand. All connections are on the back, which I like. I hate cables all over the dash so I run them through the back and through the dash to hide the ipod and other similar connections. The cables are good and long, and the USB port even has an extension cord. I've relocated the USB and AUX ports behind the dash and are easily accessible at the top of the transmission tunnel in my car. When you listen to Bluetooth, the sat nav's audio system blares overhead so you can hear where you're going. Very good head unit. Sounds great with my speakers, the only thing I need now is a small subwoofer to get a little more bass. Worth the money if you don't need a CD player.
