Out of all the combinations of 3 different computers and 5 different monitors, this cable only worked 1.5 times and never with the right resolution. The first time I got it to work on a computer with no graphics drivers, it stopped working as soon as I installed the graphics drivers on the computer. Ten more combinations later and I finally got it working, with the DVI side connected to a monitor with broken firmware and the HDMI side connected to my graphics card (same setup didn't work on a non-GPU computer) and eventually this was recognized a signal, but only for very low resolution. It seems that there is a bug in the HDMI/DVI communication protocols where the monitors cannot recognize the signal or the computer cannot recognize the monitor in most cases. Based on my experience I would not recommend anyone to buy this product because even if you are really lucky and get a picture, chances are it is not an acceptable resolution.
