Review on Silver 160W Stereo Digital Amplifier With Power Adapter - S.M.S.L SA-98E For Enhanced SEO by Fred Whitehead

Small but mighty good for me

Small but mighty. this amp is no bigger than a desk of UNO cards and does an admirable job of driving bookshelf speakers. It is quite obvious that it isn't even close to 50w per channel @ 8ohms, but it still puts out plenty of clean output to be annoying. Compared to most of the other class-T amps I have played with, this is the best and highest output. Topping 60 is a very close second. How I set this up: Computer -> single-channel preamp -> SA-98E -> Athena B1 speakers. If you do not run a true preamp with your class-t amps, you should consider doing so. It does make a lot of difference in output level and clean musical sound. Under $200, this power amp is your best option in the class-T market.

Pros
  • With an included power adapter, the S.M.S.L SA-98E amplifier is easy to set up and use right out of the box, making it a convenient choice for people looking for an immediate solution to their audio needs
Cons
  • May have limited connectivity options
