Could use better materials.

I bought some of these extension cords to fix some of the extension cords in my shop that had lost their grounding plugs. Workshop. I spent a little more on them thinking they were better quality because they carry the GE label. I was wrong. You are just average. They do the job reasonably well, but I messed up one of them before I realized what I was dealing with. You can find out what you need to watch out for when using it here. The number one annoyance is that you don't have to completely remove the screws. which clamp the wire as they are not captive screws. It wasn't fun at all finding both the screw and the tiny pressure plate and then trying to realign everything to make it all fit back together. Annoyance number two is that the metal feels pretty bland on the screws and elsewhere. Over-tightening the screws will break the threads and render the connector unusable. I didn't actually shoot it, so that was a bit of a disappointment for me. As a side note, this doesn't work well with 10 gauge extensions as the opening and retaining clip aren't wide enough to accommodate a thick cable. . It's not necessarily their fault and I don't blame them. I was hoping to use them on some of my more powerful power strips. You can make it work with a few tweaks - and I did - but it really is designed to work with 12 gauge wire or less. I give them two stars because they are made from cheap materials. They'll work fine if you're careful, but I don't expect them to hold up in an industrial setting. Let's face it, they're not attractive enough to be used anywhere other than in an industrial setting. They are working at the moment but next time I will earn some money from the local electric company to find a better solution.
