Overall gel is quite economical compared to tablets. The smell is neutral, not amazing, not bad, does not leave an unpleasant smell on the dishes. I have mixed feelings about the cleanability - seems to clean well but sometimes leaves a bit of a residue. I'm not sure if it's because I applied too much gel. I'll probably buy dish racks and then add gel to the prewash. For those who use capsules, this is important, since during the pre-wash cycle the main detergent flap does not open, and if you do not pour gel, the dishes will not be fully cleaned, as indicated by the manufacturer. I hope that combining this gel with more expensive tablets gives the best of both worlds.
