I installed this charging socket on my couch in the cup holder compartment. I used the power cord from an old laptop for the power supply. That works fine. However, my expectations of the charging performance were not met. Update: build quality is poor. The USB-C port is free. Keeps no cable contact. It sits on my couch where it stays in place, I can't imagine how bad it would be from vibrations in someone's car. The outlet must be connected to USB 3.0 and USB-C ports. One would assume that the USB-C connector would charge faster, but that's not the case. They are both identical. This is not a fancy fast charge but a regular charger for my Samsung Note 10 Plus phone. If you don't care about loading speed, you can't go wrong with this product.
