We've had the PetSafe Wireless Fence for two years now. We bought it from Revain in August 2016. When we trained our German Shepherd with the wireless restraint system, we followed the instructions exactly. At first it went well. Our dog knew his limits. The system worked when needed and our dog knew to run back to the house if he went too far. But over time, the system became more and more contradictory. All dogs need consistency, especially German Shepherds. Sometimes the system would start shocking her while she was safe in her zone. Otherwise the system wouldn't shock her when she overstepped her limits. We tried to fix the error by unplugging and plugging the transmitter back in. We changed the batteries in her collar. We tried adjusting the perimeter of her circle. It worked at times, but inevitably reverted to its contradictory ways. Today was the last straw. I was outside with our German shepherd when someone walked by with their dog. The other dog was certainly out of our dog's reach, but because the system has been so inconsistent lately, my dog ran toward the other dog. Luckily I was able to call her back right away, but I could tell the other dog owner was a bit startled by what had happened. And I don't blame him! My dog should stay in her garden. But the system didn't work. Then, as I brought my dog indoors, in a safe place within the containment system, the collar started hitting her without warning. She's really pissed off and now she's afraid to go in our kitchen and out the back door. Needless to say I am done with this product. I don't recommend it as it currently works for anyone who loves their pet. This is too contradictory and can do more harm than good. i want it to work I want him to do what he promised. I wish I could get what I paid for. But instead I have a nervous dog who gets electrocuted inside the house within the safe range of his action and doesn't get electrocuted when he leaves the safe area.
