It worked great plug and play on my laptop with windows 7. This was a great find because my touchpad on my laptop started to fail. I liked that it was (barely) small enough to fit on my old touchpad, attached with a piece of tape or a rubber band. But I can think of a more perfect motive. A few complaints, in order of importance: - Two buttons are hard to press. This tires your wrists more than necessary. That's my biggest complaint about it. They are "slow" and clumsy. They could also be bigger to meet them with more confidence. The cord is longer than it should be which causes too much clutter around you. Two feet would suffice as everyone naturally keeps it close to their laptop. Since most of them are right-handed, it would make more sense for the cable to exit on the left rather than the right. A little something. The interface for controlling the touchpad parameters (pointer speed, click speed) was not written to be easy to use. You are not sure what you are doing. I'm glad I have this thing. But I am planning to buy a different brand USB touchpad just to see if others are better.
