If you need AC power this is a very good power supply with good regulation and a very wide power range. An additional feature that I didn't see in the display is that it comes with an additional 3-pin potentiometer so you can use the remote's potentiometer to adjust the output voltage. There is also a bright three digit voltmeter on the case that reads within plus or minus 0.2 volts of the actual output signal. Can't comment on durability as I've only just started using it, but I had a 50W load and it wasn't even warm. Short circuit protection has been tested with both applied load and absolute short circuit and seems to work well.
