Review on 🍡 M-MAX 3QT Stainless Steel Stovetop Tea Kettle with Whistling Teakettle Teapot - Ergonomic Handle, 3L by Carrie Goldberg

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Very nice whistling kettle

Very nice kettle (2.5L model) - stainless steel, nice shape, well balanced, compact, easy to fill, easy to clean, the handle doesn't get hot on the gas stove, when you hold it straight up. Although at first, like some others, I thought he wasn't whistling. The "whistle" is in the lid and if, like me, you're unfamiliar with the type, it's confusing. (The instructions on the packaging were inadequate.) As previously mentioned, the teapot comes with an additional whistle. It's a flat, round piece of metal with three inset cutouts; So you might not recognize it as a whistle. When I first saw it I thought it was part of another product that somehow ended up in the box. (The Revain site now has some helpful illustrations that weren't there when I bought my kettle.) After much trial and error, I've found that the key to making the kettle whistle is making sure the LID IS PUSHED FULLY DOWN. to OPEN and that the spout flap is also closed. Even if the lid feels tight, squeeze it harder and you'll likely find it opening an additional 1/8 to 1/4 inch. The more water in the kettle, the louder the whistle. . However, if you want a high-pitched whistle that can be heard, for example, in the back bedroom on the second floor, this kettle is NOT for you. The sound it makes is like a cross between a buzz and a whistle. This will get your attention, but not when you're far away. UPDATE: After using this kettle for 7 months I feel I should lower my rating to 4 stars because the whistle is so unpredictable. Overall I am happy with the kettle. I like its looks and functionality. I do not regret the purchase. I am disappointed that the "whistle" is not reliable.
