So my wife and I love pepper. Our old coffee grinder broke, it's time to replace it. I really like the description and look of this coffee grinder and exhausted my wife trying to get it. We were thinking of a more traditional windmill but are very happy with this one. This mill really does grind peppers. Half a turn gives enough pepper for most uses. After about six turns the tray is fuller Pepper (1 tbsp + pepper). One of the advantages of this was cooking. If you need to pepper a roast with a crust, it will be much faster. This grinder is also better for soups and stews. We can easily grind a bunch of pepper, but we can also easily grind it without steam.This allows us to keep moisture out of the grinder.Unlike previous vertical column mills, polluting t it also not our counters. We always had pepper on the counter where there was an old pepper mill. With the tray on the Peugeot we finally have pepperless counters. We really like the grinding settings, good and coarse. It's adjustable so you can make it as thin or as thick as you like. This block locks the grind setting so it doesn't change. We set it to coarse and it has stayed that way since we got it. Our old grinder always changed depending on how tight you screwed the lid on, so it was finely ground pepper, then coarse pepper, and then the lid fell off because it didn't get big enough and we accidentally unscrewed the lid. . This one is much nicer. Filling this unit is very easy thanks to the large chrome hole. This is the easiest pepper grinder we've ever had. No more funnels, just pour. Thank goodness it goes through the pepper and we fill it up often. I don't think the hand holding this grinder over a plate of salad is as simple as a more traditional coffee grinder. . You can take out the drawer and grind directly into food, but the square shape requires big hands to do so. It may not be suitable for salad lovers. The drawer makes it easy to grab a pinch of pepper or fill a small bowl and spread it out on the table for that purpose. All in all, we have no regrets about this mill.
