Brighter than OE bulbs with better color for night driving. Consumes no more electricity than a normal light bulb. This is my headlight bulb in my aftermarket headlights and the headlights showed much better brightness and color definition than with stock bulbs. As an added bonus, they draw no more current than a standard bulb. Using more powerful lamps often results in too much glare and can damage the case due to the extra heat. Didn't want to try LED conversion kits as I've read some crappy reviews about them unless the reflector is rated to accommodate them. For the money these bulbs were a great buy, they were MUCH more expensive locally, $17-$25 each.
