As advertised. Heavy but much easier to carry than a padlock. I just attach it to the rear bike rack with velcro straps. I don't feel any extra weight when riding. It's also very easy to use -- much easier than some reviewers say. I lock my bike through the rear wheel, through the frame and to a bike stand/rack/road stand. There is always enough space and length at the lock to secure my bike in this way. I also have gravity locking skewers on my wheels to prevent them from being stolen. My peace of mind is worth the price of this Abus Bordo GRANIT X Plus 6500 lock. I had no problem completing my New York trip (knock on wood). However, it didn't lock my bike for the night - and I wouldn't either.
