The transmission filter gasket is a cylinder approximately 1cm x 1cm x 1cm in size. It's metal covered in black plastic or rubber and I didn't realize it and that's what this PITA project did. I thought I removed the old gasket from the car completely, but I just scraped the inner plastic/rubber off the old one. Pads So of course I couldn't install a new gasket. I pushed and pushed and before you know it the new gasket was bending and becoming unusable. I had to buy another transmission filter because you can't buy gaskets separately. It would be nice if the filter included this information as a warning.
