My decision - I will buy a new Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM, definitely! But, only when it gets a little cheaper ;-))) Some pros: + sharp; + contrast; + slightly more juicy colors gives out; + we get a hard drawing and high detail of the picture, almost like a fixed lens (because it's always easier to blur the texture of the skin (in Ps / Lr) than to draw); + large depth of field even with an open aperture, which will be very useful for reporters and weddings; + the lens hood (the trunk disappeared) has become several times smaller, which means it is more convenient to use, because the optical design of the lens has changed (it was a mess, like); + Rich blacks while maintaining detail in the shadows. Has cons: - price for today: that's what a search on the Market gives - from 89,990 to 114,990; - it seems to me that the beginner's vignetting is very hard, look again at the first 2 frames. When processing a RAW file in LR 4.2, it was not possible to automatically eliminate vignetting! When the checkbox is checked for automatic selection of the lens profile, version 4.2 does not react in any way. Be prepared to manually select a lens profile. Although, manual selection of the old Canon 24-70 profile removes vignetting very well.
