This bottle opener was great, it was painless to open a bottle with a real cork. I ordered it at the end of August 2013. Today, mid-October, I tried to open a bottle of wine and it just broke! I'm not even sure what happened. All I know is that I was squeezing and pulling the cutter up and all of a sudden I hear a strange popping sound, my little finger is bleeding from a cut and the cutter/spool/spool falls out of the cork. The cork is still in the bottle! And now the opener doesn't work. The coil just goes in and out, in and out, in and out. Something broke and I don't even know what. All I know when I have a scratched, sore finger and paid $25 for something I thought would take a couple of years, no less than 3 months. I know there is a guarantee, but if I have to pay almost the price of an opener to send it back and forth, forget it! Next time I will look for a different brand.
