Review on KitchenAid KFP0722 ExactSlice 7 Cup Processor by George Miller

The engine smokes burning and strong. The blades also stopped working.

Please do not buy this article! Please do not! I'm a fan of Kitchen Aid and most of my appliances (fridge, dishwasher, blender, grinder, etc.) are owned by this company. However, I bought this stand mixer in May 2018 after my 10 year old black and white stand mixer (which I received as a gift) broke, so I went with the Kitchen Aid brand. The first time I used it was to grind peanuts. After about 10-20 seconds the knives stop and I can smell smoke coming from the engine. I thought the thing was overheating, I had to turn it off and on again. It worked but the smoke was still heavy. The second time I used it was to make fish paste after grinding the fish fillets in a meat grinder (connects to a stand mixer) and then adding a small amount to a food processor to finely chop. Insertion. There was heavy smoke again and the blade stopped working after about 30 seconds. Again I thought it overheated because the paste was thick. My old Black and Decker food processor did a better job than Kitchen Aid. And as a Vietnamese chef, I make a lot of fish and meat noodles using a Black and Deck food processor because I think Kitchen Aid would be the best brand and quality for the task. I was wrong! Yesterday I tried to make Vietnamese beef balls for Phở (Vietnamese beef noodle soup) and this machine refused to cooperate and this time the smoke came out stronger and smelled stronger. I can still smell it when I open the closet I keep it in. That burning smell is a little suffocating. I called Revane and the tour guide was accommodating. She transferred me to SquareTrade because I bought a 4 year protection plan. A SquareTrade rep said I needed to speak to Kitchen Aid customer service as the one year factory warranty was still pending. Eventually I contacted a Kitchen Aid employee and during our conversation she accused me of using a food processor to make meat pasta when I explained to her why the machine was broken. She said the machine was only used to process cheese or cooked chicken, not meat. I told her I have Black and Decker and it works better. She yelled at me for comparing Kitchen Aid to another brand. In short, after a heated conversation, I agreed to get a replacement. The representative said that Kitchen Aid would replace the product, but if the same thing happened again (e.g. heavy smoke) they would not be responsible for a replacement. What is this shitty statement? In the meantime, I have lost confidence in Kitchen Aid and will probably switch to the brand for small kitchen appliances. So DO NOT buy this product and look for another brand. Also, it's difficult to clean the crevices and nooks and crannies in the blade shaft because the meat will get stuck if you don't have the tools to clean it out.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
