Nice to have until it fails 15 months after purchase

I bought a thermometer in mid 2019 and the accuracy wasn't great but it was terrible. Used for my various engine repair and maintenance projects and when COVID hit and all these overpriced products it helped me a few times as well. Like any infrared thermometer, it cannot measure internal temperature for obvious reasons. However, they are a great help in pointing you in the direction of taking your temperature, as they measure about 1-2 F less than oral thermometers (the best points have been found to be in the mouth or parietal lobes). Unfortunately the little guy's sensor was starting to feel unreliable today because when I tried to use it again today the surface temperature on my freezer showed 623F, even with a new set of batteries. However, I let it sit for a few minutes and also started giving accurate readings. Because of this flickering, I don't think it's that reliable anymore, so it has mixed feelings now.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Some errors
