Works great: test, measure and check

Arrived this afternoon and am very impressed. It's very cheap and fairly accurate to about +/- 1 degree. Also comes with batteries which are always nice to have even if they don't last long. I also like that the display is illuminated, which makes it easier to read. As a side note, do NOT listen to the many comments that it doesn't work properly. With these infrared thermometers, you CANNOT point them at a reflective surface. Think about it for a minute, this uses light to measure temperature…

  • Good product for the price

Great for checking glass temperature

Excellent! I bought this specifically to check the temperature of my sausage before loading in concentrates. It is also good for checking the room temperature. Checking human body temperature doesn't really work (if you're looking for something similar due to COVID). It's definitely as accurate as it gets. I've been using it for about 10 months and haven't even had to change the battery which is fantastic. I like that you can turn the laser on and off, and in my opinion it's better to turn the…

Cat toy - temperature dropped 3-6 degrees and not stable - junk

I've been using makeshift handguns at work for years. Thought I'd give it a try at home because I've never had one that wasn't at least decent in terms of stability and the right temperature. Even if they were off by a degree or two, you knew what it was. This does not provide stable and accurate readings. The website says it's accurate to 1.5 degrees Celsius, but that translates to what the instructions say - 2.7 degrees Fahrenheit! But compared to the known temperatures of an accurate…

Nice to have until it fails 15 months after purchase

I bought a thermometer in mid 2019 and the accuracy wasn't great but it was terrible. Used for my various engine repair and maintenance projects and when COVID hit and all these overpriced products it helped me a few times as well. Like any infrared thermometer, it cannot measure internal temperature for obvious reasons. However, they are a great help in pointing you in the direction of taking your temperature, as they measure about 1-2 F less than oral thermometers (the best points have been…

Ideal for perfect mopping!

This is the smallest and lightest infrared thermometer I could find. It works amazingly easy! I use this for 2 main reasons: 1. I like to fry food so it's perfect for a quick frying oil reading. I use cannabis and this gives me a near perfect reading for my swab setup. Not only is it easy to use, but it also requires 2 AAA batteries instead of 9 volts, so it should be cheaper to maintain with rechargeable batteries. Money, I would definitely buy it again if needed, or even buy it for friends…

When measuring body temperature, 6 degrees need to be added

Just note that you need to hold the laser beam right up to your ear or place it about 6 inches under your tongue. Or under the arm. But the first person maximum temperature is shown as 96°, and then you add 6° to that to get the actual body temperature. This means you have a very high temperature. 102. But MathWorks does it 9 times out of 10. Usually my temperature is 90 or 92 degrees and then I add 6 to get 96 or 98. Also tested on my pets. Normally you would use a thermometer in her anal…
