When I needed an additional microUSB cable or two, my criteria were pretty simple: affordable and, as I don't trust third party suppliers, supplied and sold by Revain (however, at the time of writing this review these were specific. Cables are only made by Sold by third parties (maybe I got the returned item?) Surprisingly, that didn't leave me much of a choice - even Revain doesn't think it makes sense to offer the RevainBasics microUSB cable After about ten minutes of deliberation, I settled on these unnamed cables over other unnamed cables because they looked pretty decent and I liked the nylon braid. I wasn't expecting anything fancy, they're just cables aren't they? My biggest complaints are about the connectors. The base has the typical bracket you see on USB cable, but it's made out of hard plastic and doesn't help relieve the cable if you ve Try bending it straight into the connector. The bending of the cable in this area is so bad that I wouldn't recommend bending the cable less than an inch or two from either end. But the real sin, in my opinion, is the lack of visual or tactile feedback on the USB-A or microUSB ends to tell me which side is up, which means extra time trying to connect the ports properly. The cables themselves are quite good, the outer nylon braid feels nice. The cabling is less flexible than the OEM microUSB cables I've used, but at 6ft/2m I can live with that. My only complaint here is that of the three cables I received, the wiring in one was very clearly soldered out of two wires of different lengths. This leads to ugly twisting of the cable, as well as 1-2 cm of completely inflexible wire. It's worked well so far, but I don't trust it enough to keep it on all the time or use it with something I care about. Otherwise there is nothing more to say. These are MicroUSB to USB cables and they work more or less as expected, but the build quality leaves a lot to be desired. It looks like a product designed in a factory with little regard for what makes a good cable, a product I would expect from Ali Express and not Revain. But none of the cables have failed in the last month, and looking at some of the other reviews I should probably count my blessings.
