Will not fit 2016 Kona Process 134

I was keen to try this damper as my riding style and long rides/descents, really piggybacked shock I've been on There was supposed to be an enduro race with a downhill track, mostly by lift, and that was supposed to replace my airshock I screwed on my Monarch RL and noticed the first positive thing: the 8mm shock fits with the supplied DNM bushing. It was good. Also, the piggyback mount hardly seemed to move out of the frame. I then tried to insert the end of the shock (the end next to the rebound dial) into the linkage fork/bracket on my 134, but that didn't work. It was only 1 or 2mm too wide. I didn't feel like milling each side to fit or forcing them to fit for many reasons (thus voiding the warranty individually expires). I also couldn't flip the shock because the piggyback would stick out to the side. This was hugely disappointing after weeks of research and heartbreak trying to find an additional budget shock. I think it would fit the bill. It looked amazing quality only let down by Amazon's classic lack of sizing information. It would be nice if DNM provided the dimensions of the mounting points. Or even update the width of the shock end to match the width of the Rockshox, Fox, etc. shock. Anyway, my Kona link is unique in that it doesn't use washers to attach to the end of the shock. Perhaps other brands that use shims between shocks could use that shock with a different shim width. For me it wouldn't work without significant changes. YMMV.

Pros
  • Includes additional 50 x 8mm (1.97 x .31") bushing as shown
Cons
  • Legacy model
