LOUD, hot and can damage plants

I'm tired of having multiple pumps to meet my needs so like many people viewing this I saw 8 outlets and it looked powerful enough out to complete all 8. And that's enough flow. Problem #1 is loud and gets louder over time. Covering it with something to drown out the loud hum will only hasten heat death, and that's problem #2. One of those pumps is in the basement, where the average temperature is 45-50 degrees. Keep the pump operating temperature fairly low, which is good. anything above that heats up the pump. So hot that you can't keep your hand on it for long if you touch it. Problem number 3. I think the grease from the pump piston is evaporating and pushing through the channels into my hydraulic buckets killing the plants. It took some time to figure out why the plants were wilting because it didn't happen right after the pump started. After the plant was taken off life support, the bucket was left in the room for at least 24 hours without the plant or air stone. I saw a film floating on the surface of the water, like oil or some kind of lubricant. So my advice is to use a trap and pump filter when buying. The trap requires routine cleaning and filter replacement. Much luck. Update: This pump only ran for a couple of weeks before it was removed from my system. A friend asked me if he could get one since I don't use it anymore. I told him it was loud so I turned it on to show him. Nothing. nada, zip, the pump is dead. only a few weeks of work, disconnected from the mains and stood still for 2 months. Dead.Product is complete garbage.
