Worked fine but had to use a sander to round off the edges of the flap where the new screws go into the faceplate.
The adapter is solid bronze. It simply screws into existing holes. The problem arose when trying to insert new face screws. I didn't notice it at first, but the new bolts were pressing against the square corners of the valve. I took a dremel tool and rounded the top edge and bottom right edge and bingo even worked great. It's nice to have updated hardware, just check the clearance on the valve plate on the back where the new faceplate screws go.
