You are now ready to inflate.Note:My goal with this review is to concentrate on the inflator; not how to change a tire; however, if you are not sure how to use the tire hooks, there are some great videos out on the internet that demonstrate the process in great detail. I will say that the tools are of excellent quality, and I can remove a side of the tire from the rim in two-or-three minutes.Inflating the TireWith the innertube safely back into tire, and the tire back on the rim, pull out the inflator unit (Figure-4).Notice that it is L shaped and one side has a lock/unlock symbol. Grab the valve under the symbol and tighten it… Just like you would tighten the lid on a jar. This will prevent any CO2 from escaping when you insert the pressurized cartridge. The unit comes with an insulated sleeve that slips over the CO2 cartridge. When inflating, the cartridge gets extremely cold and can actually cause freeze burns to your fingers. As you can see from the image my cartridges come with insulation; however, if yours are bare metal, use this sleeve before inflating. You will be glad you did (Figure-5).Insert the CO2 cartridge and screw it all the way into the unit. You might hear a short hiss as the cartridge opens up (Figure-6).Attach the other side of the unit to the valve on the tire (Figure-6).This unit works with three types of tire valves:1. Schrader Valves: Simply screw the unit directly onto the tire valve.2. Presta Valves: Press the unit directly down onto the valve.3. Wood’s Valve: Similar to a Schrader Valve.I have two road bikes with Presta valves, and one off-road bike with a Schrader valve, so this product is perfect for my needs. To inflate the tire, simply loosen the valve that you previously tightened (refer to Figure 4), and the compressed CO2 will flow into the tire. Tighten back up when the tire is inflated (Figure-7).FYI: You can store up to 3 CO2 canisters in the case with the patches and tools. That is about it.Bottom LineSturdy construction, light weight, comes in a case that contains everything you need to fix and inflate a flat. And, at a good price point.
