With my first Keurig coffee maker, I never bothered with the filters that were offered. When I bought my second, larger maker, there was a filter holder in the water box, as well as a couple of filter packs in the box. I started using them and since then I've noticed a really better coffee taste. I use filtered water initially, but these filters really keep the water fresh and are easy to replace every few months. I recommend them if you haven't used them. My day starts with coffee (can't live without it) and Keurig filters make it better.
