Review on Metra 99 7423 Single Double Installation by David Fields

Revainrating 2 out of 5

It works. But it looks terrible.

I've used Metra kits to install stereos in various cars since high school. It wasn't hard to order again when I installed a Pioneer two din navigation box in my girlfriend's 2008 Nissan Altima (with manual air conditioning). Let me tell you the kit works. The radio is built in and isn't going anywhere. That's all. The kit is designed to work with multiple applications. This requires multiple plugs around the radio and around the air conditioning controls, manual or automatic. These panels do not match at all, there are gaps and the corners of the panel around the manual air conditioning controls do not match. Also, the plastic is flat while the strokes are textured around it. In my opinion it just looks awful. So here is the best option if you want to install a two DIN unit in a 2008 Altima with manual air conditioning controls. Order NISSAN OEM part number 68260JA00A. This is a solid factory board with the right texture. You are using brackets on an OEM radio. and looks perfect. Enjoy.
