It really does everything you need. Like other waffle cone rubber tops, it doesn't drop low enough to practice hitting right at the bottom of the hitting zone. But it gets lower than some others. Very strong, stays upright together with a strong and flexible rubber cone at the tip allows you to get a nice clean shot off the tee. I took a couple of smacks from my kids' cheaper Franklin hard rubber t-shirt - the standard t-shirt - and destroyed the top part of the t-shirt after about 100 smacks. I've made several hundred of these and it still looks like new. So. it does what you need. This is good equipment.
