Good for starters. It is as beautiful as the picture. Still sharp as a razor out of the box. Feel and weight are excellent in my hands. Cut like a dream. I wish I hadn't waited so long to get it. I'm still glad because my company gave me a $100 gift certificate, that was the first thing that came to mind. I looked at many others. I had $100 to play with. This won my choice over even more expensive knives. Now for durability. For that I say at least a year of use. I will post again and update my review. I can only think that a chipped edge or realizing the metal is soft will cause me to drop my review. I love everything about this knife so far.
