Review on HIC Nylon Mesh Strainer 4 Inch by Tony Stennis

Got this for kefir. the mesh corresponds to the outer ring, which cannot be sterilized. So no fuss! I can use it for powdered sugar, sifting tea and diluting kefir. I might buy another one for other, oilier purposes. 4 inches is definitely a good standard size. I am not enthusiastic about the small levers on the sides for relaxing. They require you to use a certain size bowl, my old colander has a single lever that is about 3/4 inch long before it bends. You can position it over pots, large saucepans and even the kitchen sink as it is wide enough to serve as a seat. This design has more limited uses. If you're lucky enough to have a third hand in the kitchen, this is less of an issue.
