Review on 🍾 Clear Glass 1 Gallon FastRack Fermenter/Jug with Stopper/Airlock by Marc Stewart

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Almost 4 years in use and still working!

I bought 6 of these in March 2017 so my sister and I could try our hand at making mead. They were absolutely amazing. We've all used them 4 times - The jugs are strong, very thick glass. We weren't particularly careful when we put them on the concrete floor in the basement, and luckily none of them cracked or splintered. I would still say that breaking them wouldn't be the best idea, I'm just saying that an accidental hard landing or crash didn't break them. Next I would like to mention that the plugs are still like new, not cracked, hardened or torn. I know this rubber can get hard and crumble over time so the fact that it still looks good after 4 years is quite nice. Best of all, none of the gateways broke. I've seen people mention cracking theirs, but the airlocks on the jars I have still work. Again, I'd still recommend that you don't handle things on purpose, but regular use seems to have been fine with them. Finally, my only criticism is the inevitable difficulty of cleaning these types of bottles. Obviously the bottles are glass and have a thin neck so any dirt or film that can build up and stick to the inside of the bottle can be a bit difficult to clean. (Imagine 8 month old apple slime getting very slimy and sticking to the sides or bottom when you want to filter the wine haha). there and clean the pitchers very well. (Because there's not a good enough way to spray them with trash that it doesn't make a HUGE mess. Trust me, I know)

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
