Ideal for small series

Ideal for small series. The glass is very durable and beautiful. So it comes with a gateway. For the price unbeatable! EDIT: Beware of the associated airlock - it's VERY easy to break. The jar and stopper are in perfect condition, but with fairly careful use I had cracks in the airlock. I would recommend getting better quality elsewhere, but these airlocks work for a while (until they finally break).

Don't take these - the cork doesn't fit

The bottle itself is fine. But the cork just doesn't fit - which of course I just realized when trying to re-ferment my wine in these bottles. The cork rises slowly until it stops at the top. I tried turning it upside down but then it just sank into the bottle. I ended up not being able to use it at all and had to pour the liquid back into my main fermenter while finding another bottle. Very unpleasant and I hope it didn't ruin the batch of wine.

Pros
  • Always welcome
Cons
  • Can hurt

Small volume fermenters - beer.

I rated this with "3 stars" because of my brewing application. I bought a four bottle set to brew 4 different beers at once and see if it was worth upgrading to the 5 gallon version. 1 gallon worked well for this estimate. However, the brewing, cleaning, and bottling time was not an efficient use of my personal time considering it took almost as long as it would have if I had made a 5 gallon batch. For me it's like being able to brew different beers to appreciate the overall taste. I've alsoโ€ฆ

Cork quality control problems.?

Jug and water seal are fine, but I don't like the stopper. As other reviewers have pointed out, the cork is not the right size for the jug it comes with. I am not sure if they are all like this or just the last one. However, of the two I tried from this seller, both didn't fit well and easily slipped too deep into the jug. There's good pressure on both at the moment so that's good. I'm thankful I didn't fall completely into the glass. It can wait until I transfer it to a secondary containerโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • No power

Almost 4 years in use and still working!

I bought 6 of these in March 2017 so my sister and I could try our hand at making mead. They were absolutely amazing. We've all used them 4 times - The jugs are strong, very thick glass. We weren't particularly careful when we put them on the concrete floor in the basement, and luckily none of them cracked or splintered. I would still say that breaking them wouldn't be the best idea, I'm just saying that an accidental hard landing or crash didn't break them. Next I would like to mention thatโ€ฆ

  • Everything is fine!
