I bought this cotton thread to make sparkling snowflakes for my grandchildren. I love the sparkle of the silver thread. The ball of yarn is only about 100 yards long so I think it's a bit pricey and I'll be using it mainly for edging and accents. The main problem is the tension in the thread, which causes it to twist as it detaches from the ball. I switched the thread completely from one cardboard holder to the other and tugged on it a bit while winding, hoping it wouldn't twist as much. As you get used to it, it will become easier to use. For snowflakes I use a #7 steel hook.
