When ordering, I had some doubts about the low price and meager qualities of this subwoofer. But this is for a surround sound system I installed in our RV and I was limited in both budget and the physical size of the subwoofer. The subwoofer had to be 12 inches square or smaller to fit where it needed to fit. It didn't leave me much choice. I was very concerned that the amp might not be enough, even though I didn't need a lot of bass for this system. Well, so far I'm very impressed. It definitely complemented the sound of the 5.1 system I put together. It doesn't seem to capture those ultra-low frequencies that a better subwoofer could. But it has a decent volume and a balanced, undistorted sound. I haven't practiced very well with movies, but I've tried regular TV shows in 5.1 surround with a good soundtrack. I also liked that there was a front speaker and connector. I put it in a narrow spot, pushed it against the wall and with cabinets on the sides. So the frontal shot sound is perfect for me. If you're just looking for a small surround sound system that isn't your main home theater, this woofer might just be what you're looking for! My five star rating reflects the price of this subwoofer. It certainly doesn't compare well to a $600 subwoofer, so keep your expectations realistic.
