This backpack is great for lying on the carpet. When used as a lumbar support in my leather office chair, the sharp edges of the plastic on the side of the chair (away from the back) of the device caused scratches on the leather back of my office chair. I believe it will also scratch wooden floors if used on it. I'll try filing the edges to see if I can smooth them out. In addition to this serious disadvantage, stretchers are good at relieving stiffness and back pain. I particularly like that the slot running through the center of the device allows for back extension without direct contact with any vertebrae, making it much more comfortable than cylindrical foam rollers. If this subframe didn't have any sharp edges I would give it 5 stars.
