I bought this powder knowing I was going to have surgery and wanted to keep as much muscle off of the workout as possible. HMB is said to help prevent muscle wasting and breakdown. I have to say that I have kept my muscles longer than in the past and have been able to start again without losing as much muscle mass as expected. I think it helped and have since bought another bag. I have really enjoyed all of the bulk supplements that I have purchased.
