Review on eTauro 6-Outlet Music Synchronized Power Strip: Enhance Your Space with Dual Purpose Power Outlet! by Christopher Lott

Terrible product. Don't waste money.

*Updated on 11/29/2019*After using it daily for a week, about 2 years a day, the product stopped working completely. eTauro (manufacturer) did not respond to contact attempts. Revain was useless in assisting in trying to contact her. I've run out of money and I have a useless piece of metal. At the moment I do NOT RECOMMEND this item and if I could give it zero stars I would. The extension cord serves its purpose to a certain extent. The band powers all 6 plugs, but syncing the light to the music takes a long time and doesn't work very well. The instructions for the device are extremely unclear, so here's what I did to get it working. Work: I ordered a 3.5mm auxiliary cable to a mono RCA cable (male to male) and connected the aux end to my computer and the RCA end to an extension cable (I use mono RCA because it, as my tests have shown, a better result) than with one end of a stereo RCA cable). I then connected 3 Christmas fairy lights to ports F0, F1 and F2 and switched them to the "II" setting for "synchronized" mode. I connected an extension cord. wall and played music from my computer. Nothing has happened. The music played but was music because my computer read the auxiliary plug and nothing happened to the backlight. After playing around with lightbulbs, cords, computers, extension cords, etc., I found that the extension cord does not have an internal audio equalizer. This means that the volume of the music source must be adjusted for each song played through the extension cable. Computer volume is too low and nothing happens. The computer volume is too high and all 3 light bars fade at the same time. I found that for my desktop computer with a Logitech 5.1 surround sound system coupled with an Asus Sonos HD sound card, a volume of 63 seemed reasonable for most songs. I have tips, if you want to try out this device, make sure you use an additional device for mono cinch, the result is much cleaner. Try to use a music output source that has its own digital EQ as the band itself doesn't have one. Check and note which jacks correspond to which frequency, because on the one I received the low and mid frequency jacks switch (I tested this with a frequency output device plugged directly into the unit and watched each group of indicators light up ). If you plan on using it for Christmas lights like I did (have people pull up and listen to the radio in their car, and turn the speaker volume down to low/medium for passing guests). You'll also need a speaker with an aux-in option, a 3.5mm two-way audio splitter, a male-to-male auxiliary cable, and of course an audio input source. For radio you have two options, you can just do it and use an already existing radio station (e.g. 96.5 KOIT), with the main disadvantage of the lights, there is no option to stop flashing during commercials. The second option is to buy an FM transmitter and broadcast your own music playlist on an open AM or FM radio frequency. The downside of the FM transmitter is the range of the channels as well as buying a different item. I personally prefer the FM station because it doesn't require ads and you can adjust your volume to get the best possible effect. My final verdict: I give the device 3 stars in many points. First, the internal audio equalizer will take the device to a new level of quality. Second, the frequency ports don't match what's on the list and the instructions suck. Third, you really need to know what other hardware and cables you need to buy to get the device working, it's far from "plug and play". Finally, in my opinion, one needs to have a good understanding of electronics and how they work in order to set up the device and all the additional components required for the purchase. If I now know what I know, would I buy the device again? Probably just because I know how to get the device working and if I have problems I know how to fix them. If I didn't have electronics skills, I wouldn't buy this machine again.
