Review on πŸ¦… JW Pet Company Insight Perch Cleaner: Keep Your Pet Perch Spotless (Colors Vary) by Susan King

Use with a small amount of enzymatic cleaner for good results on small diameter perches

could have been selected (zebra finches, social finches). Now I have two cockatiels, two parrots and three zebra finches, so I only have three cages to clean. This assessment will therefore be made from this point of view. I had one like this a few years ago and it was pretty great, but it got lost a few laps ago. I've tried other perch cleaners - steel wool, various brushes, etc - and none of them worked as well. Sometimes I just completely replaced perches that had gone bad. I completely forgot about this product until I bought Poop Off and saw it on my recommended products list. It's not quite the same as before (the bristles aren't as stiff anymore), but it's enough for my purposes, especially since I now have fewer birds than I used to. The packaging says to moisten bird droppings before scraping to prevent dust from collecting during scraping. I squeeze some Poop Off onto the perches, let it sit for a minute and then use it. This way I get both enzymatic and mechanical removal and it works much better than dry cleaning. Yes, it's an extra step, but it's better than any alternatives I've come up with. This is a good diameter for small bird perches. The plastic on the back is comfortable to hold and squeeze. I've only used this on wooden poles. Has been used wet and needs to be cleaned from time to time. I would also let it dry on a paper towel after use and cleaning - I doubt it's high quality stainless steel and making sure it's completely dry and no water is collecting around the bristles means they aren't rust, which means more use before replacement. In any case, it was useful for me personally, so I'm happy with the purchase.
