I like the phone but it was very difficult to set up. There were many directions and nothing was easy or clear (at least in my opinion). I'll admit I'm a bit out of the loop, but I had to call the company and get help. Then, while not an obvious impression, I realized the customer service/tech support guy thought I was a little "stupid/incompetent". Perhaps my own feelings about the situation influenced the communication, but I don't think so. So, I found the interaction a little nasty. In any case, once they helped me figure out the keys it all started to make sense and I was pretty much able to set the date, time, tones and outgoing messages. What I really like is how it feels in hand. Not sure if it's supposed to be "ergonomic" but it's a good weight and feels good in the hand. Of course, the information on the phone screen is big enough for everyone to see. I hope it lasts a lot longer than the last 2-3 phones I've had. Everyone was V-Tech and every time I had a big power surge the phone would burn out. I have a surge protector from an electrical company in my house, but when they went outside to check and make sure the fuse was working, the tech told me the surge was on the phone line (I have an FIOS) and not electrical sei se. I'm not sure if that's right, but then again I hope this phone handles those surges better than the previous ones. This is definitely a more tangible phone. It was slightly more expensive (about double what I paid for V Tech). Overall I like it but it was difficult to set up as I really feel like there were too many unclear directions. There was a brief guide, but there wasn't anything quick in it. Simplicity is good, and Motorola should simplify its "Quick Start Guide" for those of us who want short, easy-to-understand instructions.
