I don't know about crabs, but my snails LOVE it!

Before I got the rooster that now controls the snail population I needed extra food because there wasn't enough algae and I didn't want it to destroy my plants. I stopped using it once the population was controlled. The miracle shell is already enough to promote excellent shell growth. I sometimes give them some as a treat because they love this stuff so much. It also really helped her clams. And it pulls out detritus worms, which my betta loves to eat too.
