It took me several attempts to get my 2004 Camry into programming mode. The car indicated that it was in programming mode, repeatedly closing and opening all doors about every 30-40 seconds. From another reviewer. This worked for me. 1. Start with the driver's door open and unlocked. Insert the key into the ignition and remove it 2 times within 5 seconds.3. Close and open the door 2 times.4. Insert the key into the ignition and remove it 1 time.5. Close and open the door twice.6. Put the key in the ignition and close the door, turn the key on and then off.7. remove key.8. Simultaneously press the lock and unlock buttons on the remote control for about 2 seconds.9. Press the lock button. When the door is locked, the remote control is programmed.10. Test to make sure the remote is programmed. This may be a bug, but the car came out of programming mode when I opened the driver's door. After that, all remote controls worked.
