Trouble connecting to WiFi but problem solved

Reinstallation to replace another brand device that failed after only 3 years. The warranty on these is 5 years so I hope so. Work started immediately, the humidity in the basement reduced to < 50% within a few hours. I wanted a "smart" model so I could control the humidity remotely. The only problem I have is connecting to wifi. There are no instructions and they contradict the instructions for use and the application. First, the device must be connected to the network but switched off (standby). Secondly, selecting CF or AP mode requires continuously pressing the timer button 6 times, which alternately switches 2 modes. Third, and this step is completely missing from the guide and application, when you see PP on the display, press the timer button three times to connect! I would never have noticed this if I hadn't called Honeywell Customer Service at (800) 474-2147. The person on the line had to ask the techs because this unit is so new, but he gave me an answer that worked. I hope this review helps others. Updated 07/22/20. I had to return the device for a refund. Serves its purpose, but requires a lot of energy. (1) It runs continuously and NEVER stops even when it is NOT in continuous mode and I have tried different humidity settings. (2) it consumes too much energy averaging 7.1 kWh/day that I measured over a 4 day period. In comparison, our large freezer consumes 0.9 kWh/day and our fridge 1.1 kWh/day. The dehumidifier has resulted in our electricity bill increasing by about 30%.

Pros

Cons
