What it is and isn't

My kettle just arrived and it's adorable! It looks just like the pictures; It's a nice red color, the "engraving" is nice and it looks more expensive than it is. This is not a large kettle designed to boil large amounts of water. It is designed to brew 2-3 cups of tea and enjoy everything including a Japanese style teapot. Someone said it's not cast iron because the magnet doesn't stick. In fact, the magnet sticks! However, it's lighter and thinner-walled than any cast iron I know of, and the base metal is light in color - look at the spout. I think it could be cast steel or an iron alloy. It is fully enameled and can definitely boil and drink water. I repeat IT IS SAFE! I personally don't think it matters. I love it the way it is and am looking forward to my own little tea ceremony.
