Review on Enhanced OXO Good Grips Flexible Silicone Omelet Turner by Amy Meyer

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Bigger than expected, thin and chunky

Overall I love and trust OXO products. This spatula looks well made with good materials, but it's too big and thin to be practical. The business end measures a whopping 7 inches at its longest point and 4 inches at its widest point. The material is engineered to be ultra-thin and flexible, but in a spatula of this size, it makes utensils brittle and unwieldy. If I want to turn a piece of chicken or fish, it's almost impossible to do so without poking and lifting the pieces around it. This isn't a problem if I only have a piece or two in a large pan, but I usually cook more. I suppose it would be good for flipping pancakes because they're usually at least 4 inches wide, but I haven't tried it yet. Tried using it for eggs but not enough control to use it for whipping, cooking omelets or frittata.
