Review on Stanley Proto J5250XL 3/8" Drive Professional Long Handle Pear Head Ratchet, 11 by Will Powers

I'm a power plant mechanic by trade and have used proto tools my entire career. They've always been tough, dependable tools and I've never had a problem with them. I bought this ratchet for my home tool box and was very disappointed when the gear in the ratchet broke the first time I used it. Especially since I only turned the crankshaft to align the time marks on the engine I was working on. I hope it was just a faulty tool and not a design flaw, I also have all the other sizes of this ratchet and haven't had any problems with them so far.
