Review on πŸ” Dorman 917-724 Engine Camshaft Position Sensor for Various Compatible Models by Jeffrey Nunes

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I seem to have resolved my PT Cruiser's camshaft position sensor error code

PT had serious problems at times, almost got stuck limping home. I hooked up the code reader, got a not-so-unusual error code for the camshaft position sensor (I don't remember the code). I've looked into the problem, it seems to be the wiring in many cases, but since this sensor was quite cheap and I didn't see any wiring problems, I went with the Dorman sensor. 1 plug, 2 small screws, directly on the engine (possibly arranged a little differently for simplification) Sensor installed, sensor exchanged, tested on the highway ride and outside of the city, everything ok, no more error code, no terrible sluggish mode. As this was an intermittent issue, time will tell, but it looks like the issue has been resolved.

Pros
  • . Satisfied so far
Cons
  • unreliable
