The fit is great, take your first guess. Slightly thinner than the UA thermal jacket.
I run a size plus for most shirts (16.5 inch neckline and 34/35 slim fit shirts for collared shirts). I bought a medium size because I like that the base layers are tighter so they don't move around a lot. was perfect, long enough to tuck in your pants and not ride up. I thought they were thicker, I'd say it's a mix of warm gear under armor and their thermal gear. For the price they are amazing and would make a good thermal base layer.
