The adapter for attaching a stand to a speaker stand is designed in the shape of a tank. The part is all metal and appears to be aluminum and is a good weight. This adapter also comes with a 1/4" thread adapter that can turn it into a tripod mount. Once removed, the screw shrinks to a smaller size that fits any iPad or flash memory adapter. For me, the cost is really high for what you get but i haven't seen a nicer model for a lower price so i decided to just bite the bullet and pay the cost, i'm very happy with this product and know that it will last a lifetime if not abused and lost.I tried mounting them to the PA speaker stands and they went through with very little play and a tightened screw held them securely in place.If you don't use the speaker stand with a mounting screw, you can put a piece of tape on the stand where the screw meets.This is a very simple, robust adapter that Converts your speaker stand into a very tall tripod or is adjustable to your liking. I use this to mount my iPad Pro 12.9 to a speaker stand using the iPad Pro adapter that I attach it to. I rate this product 5 stars for quality and ease of use.
