Review on Light Motion Combo Switch Headlight by Eric Mueller

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The lights are bright good patterns.

Like all Light and Motion bike lights, they illuminate the road like a car at night and the taillights are brighter than some cars and motorcycles. I have an older city model 700, its light is a bit yellowish like a normal car headlight, this 500 vis is similar to my 1000 vis pro trail, bright and white. Love the pulsing pattern, it only dims for a few cycles then flashes quickly which is fine when riding alone, I ride it day and night. If the group is driving at night the flash can disturb other drivers and I switch to low. I have a Vya smart taillight, it's a big red ball but it turns off when it's bright when it's long and you're not moving. I have this as an extra backup because you can turn it on or off. I've been using Light and Motion products for years, starting with the first generation of self-contained lights and external battery powered HIDs. One time I had to buy a lithium battery and charger because NiMH batteries lose their ability to charge. HID works with the new LI and Charger, but these new lights are better and take up less space on the bike. The run time on the Hi is 1.5 hours, it pulses 12 and you can ride on a pulse at night. I love that I can attach this to the seatpost under my saddlebag, I just slide it from underneath so it touches the bag and it's on. I have a VYA on the downtube, between the seatstays above the brakes, it's always on while riding. Worth seeing.
